Investigation have been carried out on the variation of γ-radiation dose (produced by radium daughters), due to changes of temperature, in order to evaluate its effects on living substances specially on man and to study to evaluate its effects on living substances specially on man and to study the variation of observed dose and its effects, following measurements have been done in five different points of so-called field No, 2 for different hours, days and seasons in the years 1356 and 1357; 1) γ-radiation was measured was measured at 4 A.M.& 3P.M. (respectively coldest & warmest hours in a day) in order to specify daily hours variation, but no meaningful result has been obtained after statistical calculations. 2) Daily variation of γ-radiation was not observed too. For this purpose, γ-radiation was measured for twenty consequent days. 3) Measurements of γ-radiation in different seasons showed that environmental radioactivity is reached at maximum level in witner and becomes lower for autumn, summer and spring respectively.

In the present study the distribution of rubella hemagglutination inhibition (HI) antibody titer in the sera of 1486 women of 18 to 25 years old residing in Tehran were examined. Sera were pretreated with acid washed kaolin and pigeon red blood cell. Titers below 1:10 and in some studies below 1:20 are considered nonimmune to rubella. Our results show that 10, 29% of studied population had HI antibody titer of 10. Considering the results obtained in this study and the fact that the duration of artificial immunity is not fully known, we have discussed different vaccination polices in order to recommend a suitable method for use in Iran.

Method previously employed by Westoo for the determination of alkylmercury compounds was producing very wide picks during G.C. analyses. Changing the column temperature, carrier gas flow and pressure did not supersede the problem. Therefore change in packing materials was experienced. 5% DC-200 on Gas-Chrom did not work. A packing material used for chlorinated hydrocarbons W, 80-100 mesh. As the result, the modified method showed very high sensitivities in determining alkyimercury compounds and phenylmercury in less than 4 minutes, employing simplest extraction and cleanup procedures, while indicating gook percentages of recoveries. This method was completed in 1974 during a research about biotransformation of mercury in sediments.

The oil and protein content of three varieties of water melon seeds namely, Chillian Black, Dixy Queen and Charlston Gray were determined. The soluble proteins were studied and measured by paper chromatography and amino acid analyzer. The results indicated that oil content of the seeds was 43, 53 and 45% and protein content was 27, 23, and 34% respectively. The soluble proteins contained all the amino acid necessary for human nutrition and high concentration of orginine.

In this study Myer Index was calculated for six groups of a sample of urban and rural population of Iran, classified by population size. The data used were information collected on 146116 urban and 158124 rural populations, for estimation of death, birth and growth rates in Iran. The results indicate: The range of the index varies between 23.14-68.06 for women and 28.41-69.62 for men (urban or rural). No considerable difference was observed between the indices of some towns of group 5 (with small population) and the rural population (group six). There was a positive and significant correlation between the Myer Index of men and the level of illiteracy. More study on other demographic, economic and health indices are suggested as a means of classification of urban and rural population other than population size.
