CONTINUATION RATE OF ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE IN
Abstract
Over a three years period, from March1977 to Feb. 1979, a total of 821 women receiving oral contraceptive from Ibn-E-Sina clinic were studied. The continuation rate, using the life table method, was calculated to be 75% by the end of the first year, and 51% by the end of the second year. Amongst the various reasons for termination, non medical reasons were the most important ones and were equal to 20% by the end of the first year and 38.5% by the end of the second year. These results indicate that unnecessary terminations might be reduced by health education and extensive follow up of the users.Files | ||
